About M-Surveillance

This application helps you to setup an inexpensive surveillance system using your android phone. This application lets you to record video, audio and capture pictures, from the phone even when the phone is not physically present with you. Usually you invoke the audio recorder or camera application by clicking the corresponding application icon or shortcuts. This application invokes the audio recorder or camera application when it receives an SMS from a specified mobile phone.

This application turns your android phone into a surveillance camera. This application also uploads the recorded video to your YouTube account. Which means that you can watch the recorded video from anywhere anytime without needing the phone.

Configuration Steps

  1. In “Controller Phone Number” specify the mobile phone from which you would like to send the SMS to start the audio recording or picture capture.
  2. This application can send confirmation SMS back to the controller phone for the proper receipt and execution of commands received. You can specify your preference in “Confirmation SMS” check box.
  3. This application can upload the recorded video to your YouTube account immediately after the video capture. You can specify your preference in “Automatic upload to YouTube” check box.
  4. This application can delete the recorded video after the successful upload to your YouTube account. You can specify your preference in “Delete after upload” check box.
  5. Click “Start” button.

Status displays the current state of this application. This application
can be in “Idle” state or “Listening” state. In “Idle” state this application
does not process the SMSs. In “Listening” state, it looks at the SMS messages
from the “controller Phone” and executes the command if present.

Click “Stop” when you do not want this application to listen for commands
from the “Controller Phone”.

Security

This application accepts the commands ONLY from the “Controlloer” Phone.

To Start Audio Recording

Send an SMS from the “Controller Phone” to the phone with the content “sac <duration_in_seconds>” without quotes, “<” and “>”. For example, following SMS would record audio for 60 seconds:

To Start Picture Capture

Send an SMS from the “Controller Phone” to the phone with the content “spc” without quotes. Following SMS would capture a picture:

IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. Captured audio is stored in CapturedAudio folder in the SDCard.
  2. Captured pictures are stored in CapturedPictures folder in the SDCard.
  3. The recorded contents will not be visible in the phone till you connect to a computer. These contents will be visible in the phone after you disconnect from the computer.
  4. This application requires working SDCard in your phone.
